Paul Minor
Paul was born in Knox county, Missouri in 1926. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Agriculture. He was a USDA soil scientist for 34 years. He was in the Navy during WWII. He loved the Lord, his family, his job, the Missouri Tigers and the St. Louis Cardinals. The last three not necessarily in that order, but probably.
Paul mapped or had an effect on nearly every soil survey in Missouri, in one way or another. He was a field soil scientist, a project leader and the state office manuscript specialist and assistant state soil scientist. He was much loved by family and friends and all of his colleagues. He had the heart of a teacher and was the author and guiding light for the Soil Science Student guide for the Missouri FFA. He will be fondly remembered and missed by one and all, for a long, long time.
His last act before his death, in a semi-concious state, as related by his daughter Cathy; was to make the soil texturing motion with his thumb and forefinger…may God bless him and richly reward him.
