  • Fine-silty, mixed, superactive, mesic Typic Hapludalfs

  • Over 1 million acres of Menfro soils have been identified in more than 40 counties in Missouri

  • The Menfro soil series originated near the small town of Menfro, Missouri in Perry County.

  • The major land use of Menfro is agricultural and woodland, but Menfro is also important in urban land development


  • The Missouri Capitol and Governor's Mansion, the original capitol site in St Charles, Daniel Boone's burial site, much of the upland areas of Kansas City, St Louis, Jefferson City , Hermann, Hannibal, and Cape Girardeau are all located on Menfro Soil.
